Introduction

Living things is a stage 4 Science topic. It is designed to be approximately four weeks work.

It uses the context of living things and the prescribed focus area of developing knowledge and understanding of the history of science.

There are also two lessons that have ICT skills embedded within them. Spreadsheets are dealt with in Growing (lesson 3) and databases are used in Using a database (lesson 19).

The topics for each week are :

To get started click on one of the buttons, such as this one,Living things in the left hand column. Each one of these buttons opens a page that has a five lessons for the  week. Click on one of these and then go through the lesson by clicking on the arrows on the bottom of the page. When you complete a lesson goto the next lesson. You can also navigate through the pages by going to the lesson download page and clicking on each individual webpage.

There are five lessons in each week. Each lesson is presented separately as a webpage (with four pages per lesson) and as a pdf document. This gives the teacher flexibility in deciding each student's program. The return exercises are in a locked word format (electronic worksheets) that are suitable for emailing. All three alternatives are available from the lesson download page. The syllabus mapping shows the relationship of the materials to the NSW Stage 4 syllabus. There is also a Teacher's guide to the material.
