There are plants and animals (living things) as well as
things that are not alive such as water and rocks (non-living things) in the picture.
A study of living things leads to an appreciation of
the natural world - the plants, the animals, and how they affect each other and make up our environment.
So what is our environment ?
It is all the things that are around us.
The Aboriginal idea of 'land' is a good way to remember
what environment means.
Environment is soil, rocks, water, animals, plants, air -
everything in your surroundings. And that includes you! |
